Judge Ginger Gooch joins MO Supreme Court

The honorable Judge Ginger Gooch has joined the Missouri Supreme Court this week. She was appointed by Governor Mike Parson. Gooch was serving as the Southern District Court of Appeals judge at the time. Ginger Gooch is 47 and she will take over for Judge Patricia Breckenridge who is leaving thanks to retirement, as reported on KRCGTV. The Ginger Gooch news report also stated the following about her appointment to the Supreme Court:

"Judge Gooch has fought her whole career to help give the next generations of Missourians a hand up, especially women. Building the bench is as important to her as it is to me, and she works tirelessly to ensure the most qualified people have an opportunity.” Parson said.

“She clerked for the first woman on the Missouri Supreme Court, and now with her appointment, we cement the first female majority on our state's highest court in state history. We know Judge Gooch is the right woman for the job,"

Gooch was one of three nominees submitted to Governor Parson by the Appellate Judicial Commission for consideration.

A swearing-in date has not yet been set, but Missouri law requires Gooch to be sworn in within 30 days of her appointment.
