The people of Lahaina are standing up to the corporate scum and greed who's probably trying to swoop in and take over the land so they can use it for tourist bullsh*t. It's a shame how a little town is burnt to a crisp and the government is so bad at responding and helping them rebuild what belongs to them and their culture. Another video was from a man who said he came from a government hosted meeting where most of the talk was from real estate scoundrels trying to avoid permits. Now was this to rebuild the homes for the residents, or was it to takeover the land and use it for their own purposes? That remains to be seen, but I have a feeling something really scummy is at play here. Anytime the government touches something, it usually is not for good reasons or it just goes horribly wrong. Take Obamacare for example. Once the govt touched healthcare, it went pretty bad.
