Fleeing suspect involved in incident with St. Louis County police car

Police released a video showing a suspect fleeing the police while firing shots at them. The police pursued the suspect in police vehicles and eventually struck the suspect and sent him flying many feet forward. The suspect was Taiwansley Jackson, 42, who was allegedly driving recklessly when police tried to pull him over. He allegedly drove away very fast, driving irresponsibly throughout traffic, and putting people in danger.

Jackson reportedly struck several light poles in the vehicle he was driving, then got out of the car while brandishing a pistol as the car was still moving. He starts running away from the police cars - some were normal cars, but some were also unmarked which could be why he was running or shooting at them. That's when one of the cars took him out, sending him flying, according to a crime news report on STL Today:

The St. Louis County Police Department released video recordings of a Feb. 21, 2023, incident. Officers said the man had "non-life threatening" injuries; he was later charged with first-degree assault, among other charges. No officers were hurt.  Jackson was the only one hurt in the incident. His injuries were non-life threatening and officers did not fire their guns, the police department said.
Jackson will face a court date.
