'Maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch': ESPN's P.K. Subban on Maple Leafs performance
Florida Panthers won game 1 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL playoffs, but ESPN's P.K. Subban, a former NHL defenseman himself, may be eating the most glory after he made a fat joke referencing Lizzo, who is obviously morbidly obese, so it wasn't a stretch. The hosts on ESPN were talking about how the Maple Leafs played poorly and co-host John Buccigross suggested that maybe the Maple Leafs should "pack a lunch" next time because the seemed to be out of energy. That's when Subban scored a hat trick with his hilarious joke saying “Listen, maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch."
Annnnnnd of course there was so many random people complaining on social media. I'm willing to bet most of the people crying about his joke aren't even hockey fans or sports fans in general. They're probably just angry people who look for the next social media outrage to be mad at. It's a fat joke, just get over it. Or if you're shaped like Lizzo, then roll over it.
Subban skated onto ESPN last fall, covering hockey for the network that should be watched by mostly men, which is why fat jokes should be acceptable in every way shape or form. And look, if you're crying about a fat joke, then you're probably fat. You can burn more calories hitting the gym and putting down the soda.
Instead of people complaining about fat jokes, why don't we complain about the amount of bad food in our society that's cheap while salads are expensive, huh? There's a bigger problem. Imagine fast food was expensive and Salad Works was cheap. We'd all be a lot more healthy, wouldn't we? Instead, our country is filled with obesity and now we're glorifying it by showing fat Lizzo dressed in skimpy outfits saying things like "SLAY QUEEN!"
Mannnn the only thing Lizzo slays is a triple bypass burger.
We need to go back to the old days where we shamed people for being out of shape and encouraged them to work out at the gym. I'm sick of this "be your fat self and it's glorious" level of acceptance. It's terrible for society and 40 years from now we're all gonna be Jabba the Huts.
