'I bring a man of God': 2nd overall pick CJ Stroud defies critics
CJ Stroud defied critics who may have doubted him and was picked second overall by the Houston Texans in the NFL draft. Some folks tried talking smack about his play, but he threw for 8,123 yards and 85 touchdowns in just two seasons at OSU, so that's fairly impressive! CJ Stroud thanked God and talked about what he's bringing to the Texans in his interview.
The website 247Sports talked about CJ Stroud and his interview, reporting the following:
"First and foremost, I have to give all of my thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” Stroud told NFL Network’s Melissa Stark in what was a normal beginning for the quarterback’s remarks with the media. “Without Him, I wouldn’t be here. He’s the reason I’m here,” Stroud said as he got emotional again. “This took a lot of hard work.”
Stark asked Stroud what he will bring to the Texans.
“I bring me,” he said. “I bring a man of God. I bring a leader. I bring somebody who is going to go to work every day and work their tail off. Somebody who comes from a winning tradition and somebody who wants to win. That’s all I care about. I’m going to be the best quarterback and the best teammate and the best leader I can be.”
