Lia Thomas, the male swimmer who joined the women's swimming team at Penn wants President Joe Biden to let transgender athletes chose which team they compete on, which obviously would go terribly wrong if a ton of guys started joining women's teams. Rival swimmer Riley Gaines is speaking out about Lia Thomas and the push for allowing biological males to compete against real women, suggesting it is disrespectful to women, takes away their opportunities, and is basically just stupid and unfair.
Gaines tweeted: 'This take is selfish and shows an utter disregard for women. The Biden Administration is actively and aggressively working to pass laws that erase decent and fair treatment for women in sports... Are you really trying to say you would have won a national title against the men? Does it not break your heart to see women lose out on these opportunities' as reported on Daily Mail. The news article gave more info on the situation, saying the following:
Biden's planned change prohibits schools from imposing blanket banks on trans athletes in kindergarten through eighth grade.
But it does give high schools schools the authority to ban trans athletes from competing if they feel there are clear issues around fairness, which are far more likely to arise with trans girls who have gone through male puberty.
Thomas caused a frenzied reaction across the sporting world when she won the Ivy League and NCAA Championships competing against biological women.
Gaines, a former University of Kentucky swimmer, tied with Thomas on one race, and has since become a prolific commenter on the issue of trans sportswomen.
Gaines is right! There should not be biological males competing on or against all female teams, EVER. If it's a co-ed league, then sure, go for it. Otherwise, if the guy dresses like a woman, that shouldn't matter. He should still compete on the men's team and against other men. Just because someone dresses like a lady, that does NOT make them a lady. Even if Lia Thomas had his penis surgically removed, he's still not a lady. He's just a guy with no pecker.
At what point do we bring back common sense, decency, and sanity?
