In New York, drivers with 16 or more speeding violations will now be required to install devices in their cars that limit their speed to the posted limit using GPS tracking. The device will be wired into the vehicle, but many residents feel that 16 violations is far too many. They believe the devices should be installed after the first or second offense, as by the time someone racks up 16 tickets, a serious accident could already have occurred.
