Dude who launched family off cliff in a Tesla WON'T face trial

America clearly has a problem and this is one of them. The guy who intentionally drove his family off a cliff in their Tesla will NOT FACE TRIAL. The judge decided the man was suffering from a "major depressive disorder" that qualified him to get out of the trial. The driver, a California man named Dharmesh Patel, intentionally drove the Tesla off a cliff that was over 300ft high. His wife and kids were in the car with him. Surprisingly, they all survived. Yahoo News had the details on the judge's decision:

A judge granted Dharmesh Patel, who was charged with three counts of attempted murder in 2023, a mental health diversion on Thursday, June 20. Now, instead of facing a criminal trial, he will be freed in order to obtain treatment, according to a statement from the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office obtained by KRON, CNN and CBS News.

The statement said that after reviewing “all the evidence,” the judge “concluded the proper diagnosis for the defendant's mental illness was major depressive disorder,” which qualified him for the diversion.
