Donald Trump said he would end the Department of Education if he was elected in the 2024 election. The Department of Education doesn't really serve a purpose and neither does the national teacher union that Randi Weingarten is part of. Both the Dept of Education and Randi's national teacher union could be gone today and no one would bat an eye. In fact, it would probably be better for teachers, parents, and students.
Teachers don't need a national union when they already have their own local union. And, knowing many teachers myself, they don't know what the point of the national union is - nor do they like Randi because she speaks for herself, not for anyone else.
Teachers would benefit under a Donald Trump leadership.
